dc.description | A Master of Science thesis in Pure Mathematics by Jonas Saman entitled, "Additive Cyclic Codes Over Rings," submitted in January 2015. Thesis advisor is Dr. Taher Abualrub. Available are both hard and soft copies of the thesis. | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | This Master's thesis introduces a reader with an average knowledge of mathematics to coding theory. A background in algebra is included with the required details needed in coding theory. The thesis guides the reader from casual examples to linear codes, as well as cyclic codes. The focus lies on Z2Z4-additive cyclic codes. At the end new theorems regarding Z2Z4-additive cyclic codes with even in Z2[x]=(x^[alpha] - 1) Z4[x]=(x^[beta] - 1) are discussed. | en_US |
